Just last week, on May 26, 2012, Dekalb County, Georgia, police had issued statement saying they were searching for 28 year-old Marcus Devon Ventress after he shot and killed 19 year-old Ryan Devon Guider. Georgia law enforcement officials said the murders came on the heels of a robbery at Ventress’ mother’s home during which Guider stole “jewelry, cash and drugs and [punched] Ventress’ mother.”
Before Ventress murdered Guider, he shot into an apartment in the 5800 block of Treecrest Parkway after he was wrongfully told Guider lived there.

Dekalb County officers had warned that Ventress was likely armed and dangerous, citing his multiple arrests between 2002 and 2009 in Elkhart County, Indiana, for charges that included attempted murder, drug possession, gambling and resisting arrest. During this same anouncement, it was noted Ventress sent six years in prison on drug charges and was on parole and probation at the time of murdering Guider.
The search for Ventress ended today just outside of the Victory For the World Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, when a fight broke out in the parking lot where mourners were exiting following the hour-long service. According to witnesses, Ventress fired a shot into the air and more gunfire erupted. When the smoke cleared, Marcus Ventress was among the two dead and two more who were injured.

Who exactly fired the fatal shot to Marcus Ventress is unknown at this time.
Ryan Guider had recently been arraigned in Dekalb County Superior Court on charges of theft by receiving stolen property and was scheduled to appear again on June 18, 2012, on additional charges.
According to his Facebook page (which has recently been deleted), Guider was a 2010 graduate of Martin Luther King High School in Decatur, Georgia. Marcus Ventress was a 2002 graduate of Lithonia High School in Lithonia, Georgia.
